Sharon and Ken Taylor
Sharon and Ken have been travelers all their lives. Sharon was born in Ontario and after university in Montreal, she spent 9 years on Baffin Island teaching in Canada's north. During one summer she sailed with two other teachers from Lake Harbour, Baffin Island across the North Atlantic to the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, nearing losing her life on several occasions. After moving to BC, she left teaching and became a personal trainer and fitness coordinator. In 1999 she and Ken met and married.
Ken was born in Alberta and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon. After two years at UBC, he decided to hitch-hike around the world and ended up in London, England where he went to drama school eventually appearing on TV and the West End stage. In the 70's Ken moved to Toronto where he was seen in films and TV and ran his own summer stock theatre. In 1986 he returned to BC eventually meeting and marrying Sharon.
In 2001 they bought a sailboat and started living on the water. In 2003 they sailed off down the west coast and spent three years sailing south, through the Panama Canal and up the east coast to Savanna, Georgia where they put the boat on a truck and returned to Vancouver. After a year, they traded in the sailboat for a trawler and spent the next 12 years exploring the coast of BC.
Now they have embarked on another adventure and have packed up and moved to Loja, Ecuador. Here you can follow their new life in South America as they discover what surprises Ecuador has in store for them. Hope you enjoy the journey with them. Let them know what you think, and any questions you might have.

Love the blog and the photos - I think I'll need to put cat litter on my next grocery order. Since I have no cat, the weights should remain fairly consistent day to day! Love you XXX
Love the blog guys... so glad you are enjoying your new adventure.. Ken Doris Stenbraten would be proud of you with your flamboyant style and salubrious text. Keep it up as you have my attention that somewhat reflects a Netflix series.... maybe a production in the works Ken.. Enjoy my friends and stay safe.
